I wouldn't say it isn't worth anything. It's uncirculated. It looks like a 1941-S, with possibly 5 steps on Monticello. With 5 steps, it could be worth quite a bit. Looking online, I see values from $5 to $9. I'd definitely keep it!

Nice save. It does have some minor wear however so it's not uncirculated. AU-55 for sure, maybe 58. Worth a buck or so.

Some of my coolest coin finds came from change. I received a mint $20. bill with a seriel #0000028. Prestine and unfolded. Good score on your part.

These great finds are happening now because a lot of folks are hurting and digging into their junk drawers and collections to pay for a loaf of bread these days. Sorta sad...but good for the treasure hunter.

Nothing new about people in bad financial situations. I've seen and heard about coin collections being spent my whole life. Sometimes by the owner, sometimes by their kids raiding it, other times by thieves that don't know the real value of what they stole.

Very beautiful coin, I've been CRHing boxes of jefferson's each week for the past year, and CRHing nickels almost every couple weeks since 2004-2005 and that has to be one of the nicest I've seen come out of circulation.
