It's hard to figure value on a coin in that condition. It worth enough to where I think I'd have it professionally graded and slabbed. At best, it will probably come back as "genuine" and "environmental damage" but that's better than nothing. It would make it more attractive to an online buyer. Nice find. I think I'd head back to that area and do more huntng!

I have 2 of the same coin in very similar dug condition. Yours is just a tad nicer than both of mine. I sent both to ANACS for a promo where you can get 2 coins graded free for the cost of shipping only - simply to get them sealed and protected from further rot. Otherwise, having them graded is a waste of money. The grade is not a mystery on these. One of mine came back "heavily corroded, PO-01" and the other "heavily corroded, FR-02". IMO, you cant tell the difference between the 2. Yours will likely come back "heavily corroded, FR-02" because although it has decent eye appeal, I think it falls short of AG-03.

I have had both of mine valued between $400-600 each and I would place yours in the higher end of that range. Nice coin, congrats.
