Hello everyone, I was CRH last year and came across this Kennedy Half. The obverse and reverse are identical in tone (dark). Can anyone explain why or how this discoloration happens? 20160505_210559.jpg

As a general rule, abnormal coloring of a coin is an environmental issue. The coin probably came in continuous contact with something chemically acidic.....paper, plastic, cloth, liquids, etc.
