Hello all, I found this in my change today. Just curious to see what you think might be going on. The rim is protruding on the obverse and reverse.

That my friend is what's known as a "dryer coin". It's not an error. It probably spent some time rolling around in a commercial dryer.

Definitely damaged, either by a dryer as enamel7 says or intentionally done.

I kinda thought the same thing but the outside diameter is equal to any other dime.

I've never seen equal uniformity on a coin that was tumbled or manipulated like this one

It should be 17.9 mm so it is a little small.
