[PA Sleuth]

Was bored this week and decided to clean and sort my clad, separating the wheats as I went. Once the clad was sorted, I dove into my wheats searching for that elusive VDB. While I did find a crusty Indian Head, date unreadable that I must have mistakenly identified in the field as a wheat, the VDB is still MIA. So I added my newfound wheats to my ongoing collection, pictured below. This is three years worth. Does anyone else keep a Wheatie jar? If so, Show Us Your Wheats!

I keep mine in coin tubes, and am in the process of filling up my 14th tube.

I have well over 6,000 Wheat Cents in bags, rolls and 2x2's and really don't feel like dumping them all out, taking pics and then having to put them back. Sorry!

Plus it's hard on the back!! When I moved, I swore I was going to thin out my collection! I keep them in the tubes and then in the tube boxes(tube display boxes), those don't hold up well when moving them around They are all taped shut for now for strength. Ya, I haven't gotten around to it!


I like wheats!! Great collections posted so far!!

Keep mine in safety deposit box at bank, not many though I started collecting as a young Boy Scout - even got a Coin Collecting Merit Badge back then...!
...ANYWAY, Wheats are a Respectable Coin, and those and Older coins speak of Good Times (some bad) in the United States...History we can be Proud of...!

I don't have 09 s vdb, 14D, 31 s, or 22 weak or plain...Those were the first sold when I needed money! oh...and I don't have a true 55 Double, I do have a few of the "poor mans"....

I started collecting coins with wheats - had a complete set at one point - now I only have 3 left: '09 S VDB, '22 No D, and '55 Dbld Die.

What's nice is that he wants the bottle they were stored in. His logic that any bottle that can hold 45 lbs is worth it. He's agreed to pay all packing/shipping costs and insurance as I will just drop it off at a local UPS Store. Price on the bottle - $75.

LOL!! I had a gallon glass jug. the pennies about an inch thick in the bottom...Like an idiot I shook it? The bottom popped out of it in an almost perfect circle!
