Jefferson Nickel Full Of Cuds

Found this in a box of Nickels . The outside edge of the coin on both sides is absolutely full of Cuds and divets. Weirdest looking nickel I've ever seen .

Definitely weird, but looks an awful lot like solder to me. If you have a soldering iron, see if the tip will melt one of the larger "cuds". Almost looks like it was part of a piece of jewelry or a keychain or something at some time.

...If you don't have a soldering iron, you can also hold the coin (gently) in a pair of pliers while holding a lit match or lighter under one edge. Once the edge is hot enough to melt solder, quickly set it down on a heat-resistant surface and touch a knife or screwdriver blade to the hotter cuds and see if they're soft.

Not cuds. That coin looks like someone held it in a pair of pliers and just turned and squeezed. Without a doubt damage!
