If you can, please purchase a copy of Whitman Cherrypickers Guide. Appendix A of my Sixth Edition, Volume One, has a
good, basic description of doubling titled “Doubled Dies vs. Other Forms of Doubling”.

Time for more coffee.

It's on my list. Having a difficult time finding it locally and porch pirates have ruined my online shopping experience.
I hit the local coin shops, but they never have them.
Now I owe you two coffees.
For reminding me.

That's a great reference. Have the items held at the post office. Or make sure you have to sign for them.

PO, UPS, FedEx, and DHL all have written instructions on file. If no one answers, leave nothing at door. It may take me a day or two to pick up, but porch pirates get nothing from my home.

Machine Doubling really has no relation to the Stage of a Die's life and use (EDS, MDS, LDS or VLDS). Machine Doubling often referred to as Strike Doubling is a result of problems with the machinery.
