I was hoping to get some info on this coin. It looks real to me and in great condition. Thanks

First thing would be to make sure it is genuine. I don't see any red flags but trade dollars are the most counterfeited coin today. There does appear to be some cleaning damage on the obverse and some dings on the reverse, if genuine these would definitely affect the value. How and when did you acquire the coin?

maybe try Google, then go from there to a coin store to see if it's real or fake

A real one should weigh 27.22 grams, a fake around 18 grams.

I got it from my grandfather and it's been sitting in a box in our garage for several years. If it is authentic what approx would it be worth?

The closest I could find that sold was an ANACS au55 details cleaned that sold for $325.
