Do i have a 1992-D ddo and close AM?

Hello. I'm new to the forum and just a new coin collector. I have a 1992-D penny that i need help with. Is it a true ddo and close am and if so what are my options. Value?

My best estimate would be yes on the double die, but no on the close AM.

Welcome to the forum. Sorry to say, no on both. It is a wide AM, and the doubling is mechanical doubling, not doubled die.

You are seeing something called strike doubling. It's where the coin slips slightly when struck and the images slide off of each other. Not a true double die.

Remember that a doubled die coin is the result of features of the die being doubled during manufacturing of the die. Mechanical doubling, also known as strike doubling, impact doubling and many other names, is caused by minor slippage of coin or die during impact. Study of the manufacturing of coins will help greatly in identifying each.

Also, great camera work. Not one in a hundred here know how to take quality images of coins. I congratulate you!
