I have a carved and red lacquered wooden saddle but it was made during the Ming Dynasty in China.

Like yours it has the four pieces that create the saddle when assembled.

I wonder if yours was made in the U.S. by Chinese railway laborers who may have been familiar with similar saddles in China.
