I brought this at a estate sale I was wondering it was a good buy , I paid 50$$ , it look old Any help

I had one just like it and sold it 10 years ago(at the going rate then) for $400.00

I have a carved and red lacquered wooden saddle but it was made during the Ming Dynasty in China.

Like yours it has the four pieces that create the saddle when assembled.

I wonder if yours was made in the U.S. by Chinese railway laborers who may have been familiar with similar saddles in China.

Looks like a saddle for a camel. They are made similar with a wooden frame.

It appears to be Arcahic Spanish / Mexican with a high cantle. I think you did rather well. I would have bought it for $50. bucks too.
