Cops clock man driving 137 mph in '93 Honda Civic

GREENVILLE, N.Y. (AP) -- State police have ticketed an upstate New York man for driving more than twice the 65-mph speed limit on an interstate highway. Troopers said a 21-year-old man was clocked doing 137 mph on Interstate 84 in Orange County on Tuesday. He was pulled over in the westbound lanes near Exit 2 in the town of Greenville, on the New Jersey border 60 miles northwest of New York City.

Troopers said the man was driving a 1993 Honda Civic.

I'd challenge the calibration of the clocking device in court and would probably get off...

Geez, that's like giving a ticket to a toddler on a trike.

I know this is in the comedy section but, you can build the snot out of those Honda engines. It's practically a nobrainer now days to get at least 400 to 500 horse power at the wheels on one of these things ! I once had a Hyundai accent, and would do well over 100 before you knew it !

But I still prefer the old fashioned 50's and 60's hot rods !

You had a better chance of living after a crash in a '55 Chevy at a hundred MPH
too even if your not strapped in :D

Actualy I'd rather take my chances Soaring through the air & Rash Burns
then be strapped into these new vehicles.

Their not about saving lives any way.

The ambulance Drivers just don't want to have to look for you after the crash

About the way these two different era of cars are safer, or not in a crash, I wont even go there ! But anyway I was just letting everyone know that just because it was a Honda, doesn't mean it was a slow Honda.

Like I said, these motors are great to hot rod, they can really turn some high rpms really fast ! But I know, some people see Honda, and just think of an everyday car. There are things called sleepers.
