I was at a farmer's convention in Chicago, the city that blows, and met up with two friends. The one friend from Texas asked my friend the Piedmont valley tobacco farmer from out east how big his farm is. The tobacco farmer pointed at a large billboard, about two blocks away and explained that his farm lot was about as long and wide as the distance from where they were standing to the billboard.
The the tobacco farmer then asked my Texan friend how big his farm was.
"Well," says Tex, "My ranch is so big that if you got in a truck at one fence line at the break of day and then drove across, it would take 'bout 'till noon to get to the other fence line."
"Oh!" Says my eastern friend while scratching his chin. "I used to have a truck just like that".
The the tobacco farmer then asked my Texan friend how big his farm was.
