A top notch lumber grader got po'd & quit his job at a large lumber mill .
The lumber co. had no choice but to advertise for a professional lumber
grader . One day a man saunters into the lumber co's office & says he's
there to apply for the job . The lady behind the desk asks him if he's
familiar with all different kinds of wood . He looks down his nose and
tells her he's the best thats ever been . She's begining to get a little annoyed
with his attitude . She reaches under her desk & pulls out a box full of square
sticks about 10 inches long . She holds one up & asks him if he knows what
kind of wood it is . He barely glances at it & says , sure that's maple . She
pulls out another stick & wants to know if he knows what it is . He says
sure that's willow . She tries one more & he says sure , thats black oak .
By now she's determined to stump him so she asks him if he can tell what
what kind of wood it is by feel . He says sure , so she puts a blindfold on
him & has him feel a stick . That's easy he says , it's walnut . She hands him
another one & he snikers & says , thats cherry . So far he's always been right
& really gotten under her skin to boot . She asks him if he can tell what kind
it is from smell . He laughs out loud & says , of course . She holds one under
his nose & he says that's dogwood . She tries one more & he says that's popular .
Now she's totally po'd So she gets on the desk , flips up her dress & sticks one
of the sticks in her butt & puts in under his nose . Now if you can tell me what
this one is you've got the job . He smells it & a puzzled look comes over his
face , he takes another big whiff & says , I'll be damned , you've got me there
I can't tell if it's pussy willow or a slab off a shit house .
