Man, CRH'ing has been pretty non existent for me this past year. I finally picked up a box of nickels yesterday. It felt good to get back to it.
Nickels yielded several 40's and 50's. No War Nickels though. A Canadian and a couple BU's (1961 and 1962). I also got a 2005 struck through grease error. The date reads 200. Pretty neat.

Well, after a long break from coins I finally decided to stop by a bank to pick up some halves. They had eleven rolls and a few loose. I only had $100 in my pocket so I took ten rolls. When the teller brought them out I assumed that it was a dump because eight of them were freshly rolled in New wrappers. One was in a 2002 US Mint wrapper and the other was a wells Fargo. I got in the car and drove to my dump bank where I sat in the parking lot and discovered that each of the "fresh" rolls contained silver's and proofs! Once I realized this I dumped the clad and went back for the last roll and loose halves. I ended up with 10 40%, 3 90%, and 10 clad proofs which included my first bicentennial proof. The proofs ranged from 1971 to 2014. 20150325_133552.jpg 20150325_133642.jpg

Super nice finds. I think it might be easier to find great rolls like that in a rural state like WV. I live in an urban area and it seems like other hunters always beat me to the CWR's. The tellers are constantly saying, "Oh, we had some, but some guy just came in and cleaned us out." I'm making a road trip to Idaho next week, so I'll be putting my theory to the test. I'll be hitting some banks in rural southern Idaho.

Silverslug, good luck with your road trip. I think you may be correct with you thoughts on rural areas. This particular bank has at least one other CRH because he or she sometimes orders a box of halves then never picks them up. They may have cut him off because it's been a long time since they've told me they have a box that didn't get picked up. This bank is also close to a very nice neighborhood with lots of elderly folks.

First nickel box in a long time. Had fun with it. Loomis:

2 1939
1 1942
1 1942D
2 1946
1 1947S
1 1947
2 1949

3 1952
1 1953
1 1954S
1 1955D
1 1957
3 1957D
1 1958D
1 1959D

Nothing too special in this one. I've been reading a lot on Hennings. Surprised how many have been found CRHing. I'm going to have to go back through my rolls that are stored away and double check. I wasn't aware of the other dates besides 1944.

Went to the bank for nickels and the teller said she happen to have $100 right there at her window. As she put them in the bag I was thinking it was a dump because they were all fresh CWR's. They actually turned out to be pretty good. She said she wished someone would come in and buy dimes because she had a bunch that people had cashed in. I'll go back for them. Here's the results:

This could be interesting or a complete skunk. Teller said that an old man dropped these off. A couple of the rolls are marked "1964" and "1960-1969" but most are unmarked. I check one of the marked rolls and they are as advertised. I'll update when I finish going through them. Also scored a clad 1980 proof half from the teller tray. nicks.jpg half.jpg

Finished up the $100 in old CRW. They produced a little more than I expected. They contained mostly full rolls of 60's, 70's and 80's. A lot of the 80's were BU.

I also kept a couple of the BU coins from the 1980's with full steps.

55P is a pretty tough date - I've only found 2 ever. Not particularly valuable tho.

$100 CWR dimes: Skunked
Did pick up an Ike from the teller tray and a $2 bill. A few clad loose halves from the teller tray as well that I'll dump with the dimes.

CRHing has slowed down a bit for me. Been real busy with everything else now that we're getting nice weather. I did find the time to search a nickle box the other day. No silver but did end up with two hole fillers. I also picked up the Whitman nickle album to upgrade from the folder. Now I've got to start filling all the holes after 1962. Anyway, here are the results of the last box.
