Really awesome find on the 1835 capped bust half dollar. I posted a thread on the coin roll hunting main forum about it. Didnt hunt at all this week, on a family vacation! HH!
Week of March 8th to Sept 6th. My COVID finds, lol.
Once boxes and hunting slowed down i just stopped on my log... there were certainly more important things to focus on, and still are, but time has free'd up a bit and banks are at a spot where i can continue hunting. Ive been able to order boxes for about a month now and have a dump bank up and running. Have to stick to halves mostly since che coin shortage is still a thing.
Anyways, heres an update and pick of waht ive found. Had a great coinstar score and a few cwr that really increased my totals. The boxes have been mostly skunky but a lot less 2018s in the boxes which is promising. HH!
Half Dollar Box - 1.044 silvers per box
Dimes - 1.2 Silvers per box
Longest Half Dollar Box Skunk Streak - 9 boxes. 69% of boxes were skunks
Longest Half Dollar Box Silver Streak - 6
Well, 2020 is in the books and man i'm glad it's over! I'm a about a month late... but that's how things have been lately. Work is harder, so is family life and just things overall. I hope that everyone is healthy, safe and things are as good as they can be for you all. Here's hoping to a better 2021 for CRH and just all around!
Hitting over 40 oz of silver was a win. I was able to miss a small majority of ordering boxes during COVID - but just after a few months, i was able to continue my standing order of 2 boxes per week. I considered myself lucky. Everything else - cwr of halves, dimes, etc were pretty much non-existent, and this is where a majority of of my finds come from - hence the lower numbers overall.
Before COVID hit I was able to score the 1835 Bust Half Dollar which i posted about. This was in February before things got crazy, and the highlight of the year. I was able to score a Morgan dollar - 1887 p i believe from the reject tray of my dump bank as well. They have to run the coin for me in their machine, and when they came back to give me my total, the teller handed me the Morgan and said i think you forgot this in your bag... i said thank you and gladly accepted it... not my finest moment... all things considered i think the moment got the best of me.
I hope that 2021 is a better year for you all. I promise to try and be more present in this forum... but as a small business owner and things being very tough right now - time is at a premium and i've dropped off posting on my CRH Log completely. I'm going to give it a rest and really appreciate all that have followed it over the last 8 years or so. I will be lurking in the CRH'ing forum and keep everyone posted of my latest and greatest, and certainly here to encourage you all to keep doing what you do! HH all!
