A lot of shells yesterday. Passed on so many shallow ones just to cover some ground.
Had two shells and a cane tip at a foot which made the Sampson feel more like I was digging with a spoon.
A couple of keepers snuck into the mix.

No discharge of firearms in this area for fifty years so it helps date when I find these. The smaller is 22cal. I find them like this occasionally. It's wrapped in wood. The tree gone, rotted away but the wood incasing the slug still there.

And the wonderful shells for the day. The tally for the deus is now at 400 for the 7 weeks using it.

That's a bunch of shot shells.
Great save on the Infantry button.
I like finding them it gives me an idea of age and that my Deus is working.
Your "cane tip" is a tip off of a buggy.
Looks like some fun hunt'n....

That's great. I thought it was a little big and thick.

Yeah, there's 150 acres at that spot. It'll take a few years, but I'll end up with most of it cleaned up. I only detect the woods in the fall till April then it's back on the water for me.

Yesterday and today. It's a mess out there. Was going to put on waders and hit the beach but at 25-28° with a wind. My floating sifter would have had ice build-up and so would I. Back to 50° Wednesday.
