Only Orx headphones can be paired with the Orx. It is a proprietary wireless system. The headphone puck can be attached to certain 3rd party headphones that have the appropriate mount/connector that will accommodate either an Orx or Deus headphone puck. Note also that Deus over-the-ear headphones and the Deus backphones and headphone puck are not compatible with Orx. You can attach a wired set of phones to the controller but that kind of defeats the purpose of the totally wireless Orx/Deus.

Thanks much, that's what I needed.

You can attach a wired BlueTooth transmitter to the ORX control unit and connect to most any Bluetooth phones. Wireless Bluetooth earbuds at times work well with the transmitter.

If you do go that route make sure the BT transmitter and BT headphones both support the APTX-LL (LL=Low Latency) protocol, otherwise you will experience significant lag which will be very noticeable when you swing your coil across the target. Non-low-latency Bluetooth delay will make the target appear to sound off in two different positions depending on the direction the coil is moving. The APTX transmitter/receiver and phones will set you back about $60 to $90 which is about the same as the Quest proprietary wireless kit. APTX-LL Bluetooth is the protocol used by Minelab for its Equinox, Vanquish, and the new GPX 6000 detectors. HTH.
