hi im a keen gold dredger from new zealand, looking to dredge up in nome in my off season, is a work permit required for nome, id be looking to help some one on a dredge for keep basically, food and accomodation and the adventure im an experienced dredger and very practicle person thanks

If you have the money, buy a round trip ticket and take basic camping gear. Hold out a sign " Will Work For Gold!" Since the gold technically isn't money, I don't see why you need a work permit. Might want to buy an "Air Ambulance" insurance policy that will fly you back to your native country if you are injured. Weather in Nome is:
