Couldn't see this thing go to a landfill so I snagged it in a heartbeat. Guessing it originally had an implement to push the food into the grinder, didn't think of it at the time, if I did I would have kept an eye open for it, dumpster was loaded with stuff. Throwing out alot of xmas stuff about now [goodwills], I snag some but far too much to take it all or most.

Yeah it had a wooden deal that you could use to push the meat into the grinder.

Noticed there are loads of these on ebay, not very valuable but pretty neat

Nice old find! Not long ago, I used mine to actually mash stuff up; fun to use a pain to clean.

The blade matters ,alot.
Followed by size of holed plates.
I use a piece of hammer handle cut down to stomp with.

The LF&C stands for Landers Frary and Clark, A big time household goods manufacturer in NewBritain, CT. Their product line was called Universal. There was different plates for grinding different foods. Been around since 1865 and sold out to GE in 1964. My 94 year old mother in law worked there winding the nichrome wire on toasters!!

I used to get to run one of those when I was a kid (that was in the 1950's, folks) during hunting seasons when my dad would bring home the deer and elk, and the whole family would participate in the butchering, prepping and wrapping the meat for food!
