Today took the Knox out to a hunted old park. Nailed a 1909 V nickel @ 9”, 1920 S wheat at 10”. Then I got a solid high tone with a 19 a VDI showing 5 arrows deep. I dug down 8” and could bearly hear a signal on my pin pointer. Dug down another 1 1/2 “. Got a solid pin point. Another half inch down out popped this little silver half dime. It’s a Canadian Vichy fish scale either 1870 or 1890 with the H mint Mark. It’s unbelievably more than the pin pointer deep. Thanks for looking.

Glad you took the time to dig the extra couple of inches. I’ve given up on some dip signals before but not anymore. Cool find. Congrats

Not asking for exact location, but where do you and people go hunt that you are able to find coins and things like this?

Great finds by the way!

Very nice find! I think the date would be 1870-H; I'm pretty sure none were minted in 1890.

It's actually the other way around......they made an 1890H, but, not an 1870H.

Ya know I really believe the 800 is far superior to the 600. Had the 600 and now the 800. The 800 seems to run smoother for me. Although people claim there are no real differences for me there seems to be.
Hope you find more!

Main difference IMO is the tone adjustability.

This is a good place to start. https://www.historicaerials.com/viewer Find parks/places you can dig and then look back in time to see if those places have history. You can also look to see if there were any old houses that are now gone.

I got my deepest silver today with the Nox, a 1925 SLQ. Around 8” using the 6” coil. Thought it was a deep wheat.

NICE, Chris! The SLQ is a beautiful coin, and they don't turn up all that frequently...

I have watched Equinox 800 videos with finds in wet freshwater sand, at 18" and 24" for a nickel and a Merc dime - respectively. Amazing. Move over White's V3i - that was a purchase mistake.

You mean you have old parks that you can safely hunt? In Atlanta the old parks are in old parts of south Atlanta and not safe to walk let alone carry $1,000 worth of gear to metal detect. Most of the parks in north metro Atlanta were built after 1970.
what did your Equinox ground balance at in that dirt?

Your hand scoop and shovel are part of your protection but you still have to be careful.
A must WM-08 with corded earbuds is a must and keep watching your surroundings and try not hunting alone.
And yes there are still gonna be places you can’t go.
Pulltabfelix I sent you a personal message.
hope it helps

Equinox balances between 9 and 24 I run it in the automode. I just like it better that way
