Park 1, sensitivity to 20. Run it like that until you start getting used to it. There's a learning curve on that one. Lots of YouTube videos help out too.

Download the manual from the Minelab website (free), print it out and read it several times. If she hunts trashy areas better crank the sensitivity back a little more, like 16 to keep chatter down. Otherwise she should choose five tones rather than 50 tones until she gets used to the symphony Minelabs make, they are chatty when cranked up. As stated above, there is a learning curve here and there are some good tutorials on Youtube. If it's her first machine it will take a while to learn it, they are complex if you wish them to be, simple enough if you just keep and use the factory settings. In fields I use Field 2, park 1 or 2 is more for mowed areas.

Very easy
Just to get started put it in park 1 , shut it off and raise coil off the ground. Turn off then turn back on but hold the start button down till you see FP (factory preset) . Then go. Then study the manual when you have time.

Download the manual and read it. nothing comes EASY in this world. We have all had to put in hours just the same.

Basic: Field 1/2, Ground balance 0 unless chatty, sensitivity 19-20
