Also remember there is not much gold in the screwcap range.

That's true, but some silvers on edge or corroded or hammered coins can fall down into that range as well as silver jewelry.

Yeah...I have many items up average very often. IHP's and wheaties are what come to mind first. I get mid to upper 30's VDI's at times.

I've just learned to use audio first and visual second and as another tool, along with pinpoint size and strength combined with the depth gauge and the signal itself. Using all those tools is especially telling on nickels too!

Funny you said that. I dig more Indians, and Wheaties when I don’t just pass along the screw cap type signals. I’m a audio kind of guy. You can learn your detector good enough to tell what’s possibly in the ground if you really listen for things such as breaking up, a small grunt, or any noise as it passes over it. I’ve noticed nickels generally don’t come in at screw cap size on my detector, and I’ve got mine setup with 3H tones so all coins, including nickels will be high pitched.

I can relate to the F-75 lingo.....3H is a nice coin setup. I swung an F75 for a good many hours.

I’ve had several over the years, the F75+ has been pretty good to me since I just got it. I had to have something super light

How can we differentiate screw.caps from pennies and dimes? Thanks to this
is to this forum I can deal with rusty bottle caps by going to 15khz and if tone/vids goes up its iron. Any .magic solution for screw caps.?

Gene I have used the ctx for 7 years and screw caps always 95 percent hit 12.40 and are a perfect 12.40 no 12.41 or 12.39 perfect 12.40 I think these happens because none of the screw caps have any corrosion on them not like pennys which vary from 12.38 to 12.41 .

Now the nox I have used since the release they always hit 23 and it's a solid 23 no 19 to mid 30s like pennys which always vary 3#s unless there shallow then they give a vary tight range of 2 #s but they never give a solid 23 there bigger than a penny and the machine ids these pretty well .

I know what you mean digging it all but there are trade offs digging all those 23 when you could be digging coins .Is it fool proof know but i'm not looking for jewelry I am a coin hunter well you miss something good maybe but every solid 23 I dug was a screw cap try it. This is for park 1 other modes may lock on a different #so you will have to see where yours lock on .

They just bang hard that's why the id is so stable . sube
