    antler carvings

    howdy all, just started to carve deer antlers and wanted to show off my first two. Let me know what you think.

    I have one somewhere that I carved a couple years ago. Mine is kinda like the old dude except mine is the tip of the antler and the point is his beard.

    By the way, what are you using to carve them? I used a dremel tool.

    yep...dremel is what i use. I"m just starting out but I was hoping these wern't too bad. I can only get better. heheheh

    my son bought a house a few months ago, in the garage a deer antler rack hung on the wall so he gave it to me to make pens. the medal tag was still on it, said 1924 wisconson. I don't think I will cut them up for pens to old.

    Nice work!!! In Ontario, it's against the law to sell ANY part of a game animal..
    Even selling a knife with a horn handle can get you fined big time, so theres no way anyone regardless of talent can sell what he or she carves,you just have to keep piling them up, and pass them on when you go...

    Where do you pick up all the antlers? Butcher after deer season?
