You options are extremely limited to nonexistant.

Providers that I have access to in Seattle, WA likely would not be able to offer you insurance, and their rates would not be the same across the US if they did.

Can anyone suggest a good provider, for futrue reference?

Thanks,

Don't dispair. Go to the Dave Ramsey site(just plug it in a search engine.) and use the ELP (endorsed local providers) and click on the insurance button. Then fill out the little request form and a company that can help you will get back. Personally I know that Midwest Insurance Company of America is one that offers policies to the self employed and those not on group plans. I cannot quote you a average cost, but the companies are out there ya just gotta look enough. Good luck and I hope you find a plan and company you can afford.

I retired early due to a disability. Before that my employer paid half of my insurance. While waiting on Social Security to grant me disability I had to pay all of my insurance and it ran right at $800 a month! (Me and my wife both). When my disability was approved and I could go on Medicare, it dropped to $230 a month! That's why I don't want the government messing with my insurance!..Monty
