We all have those we loved who have now passed or are now past loves.

Please use this thread to post thoughts about those you miss...
No real need for specifics, it's just your way of saying how you miss that certain someone.

I'll start off. This was the song I sang about 25 years ago. No more details needed.

Best Wishes,
Scott

What do you miss? Are there any particular incidents that stand out in your mind?
I miss my deceased relatives. I'm pretty much the only one left of my family. I am the last of my family's male namesake. Alas, it all perishes with me; I have no progeny.

Best,
Scott

The one I miss was my dream love, My wife. We had 16 beautiful years and then she died. That was 20 some years ago. I stoped counting at 21. She is buried in the family cemetery about 100yds. from me right now.

Frankn,
My true love and inspiration, my Mom, is buried over 800 miles from me. You are blessed that you can visit your wife in the closeness that you have. We all need to be a little closer to the ones that we love...

Best Wishes,
Scott

My Grandmother, God Bless her, is still living. To the best of my knowledge.

When I was a youngster, back in the 1960's, I would walk to her house and she would greet me with lunch. This is when I was just getting interested in coin collecting and metal detecting.
She would allow me, after lunch, to go through a BIG jar of pennies she had. I was only allowed to purchase 10 each time, at face value. I wonder what became of that big jar?

Best,
Scott

Hi Scott,
My Grandparents are all dead now, my grandfather on my fathers side when I was 3 then his wife when I was 12. My maternal grandparents went in 98 and 02 and my father died in my arms when I was 25. My mother has severe dementia, so her personality died about 2 years ago, she is now in a home about 3 to 4 days a week now. What I miss most is the sparkle in her eyes when she was joking and the way she would put me straight when I was going off the rails. She was a really clever and caring person and I miss that, I hit the bottle for a while but all I got was oblivion, no answer there, things are getting better now, but I am also the last to carry the family name. Thanks for this thread.

My sister who passed away 4 months ago yesterday. There's no way to express in words the pain of loosing someone so close. The word "pain" just doesn't cover it.

Friend,
I know how the loss of family hurts. I watched my Mother draw her last breath on December 20th, 2001. I am still grieving.

Your Friend,
Scott

In the culture I was raised in, the grandparents were the primary teachers. The folks were busy workin tryin to feed us. You respected your aunts and uncles just like your mom and dad. I remember great grandparents and grandparents very well, and thank goodness as feckless as I was as a child I paid attention to everything they said. I watched my mom die in the hospital in 95 of a brain aneurism. It was just like on the TV, that machine went 'beep, beep, beep, beeeeeeeeeeee......'. I'd seen a lot of folks die before then but that was pretty tough. I believe in God but I don't want to go to a heaven that preachers tell us about. It will be fine with me if I die and I come to a place where I'm met by all my family that has passed on, and they're all gathered up waitin for me. Then we can all spend eternity in a nice camp by the river. Jesus can stop by and visit. Our streets won't be made of gold, but I bet the fishin will be good.
