My own brother, that I love, beleives in 'chem trails', and '9/11' and otherstuf

It's so difficult to discuss this stuff with my brother because when he brings this stuff up about the government dumping chemicals on us (aka: chem trails), or other movies about 9/11, I'll often say, "Mark please, lets look at the director or author of this movie and lets see what his current standing is with the other 'respectable' scientists in the world". He fights me tooth and nail.
"MIKE, THEY ARE PAID TOO. YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND". And I can only comment back with some kind of,
"Listen to reality Mark".

My brother, a few weeks ago, started [newly] commenting on Alex Jones (I hated to even capitalize that name), but he started talking to me about him and I told him, "Mark, you shouldn't let a whole lot of people know that you listen to him, because people already known that he's not all there (aka: idiot). He believes in Chem trails, etc...".

....And, what comes up only a few days later was his kick on how chem trails are poisoning the people from airplanes. Heck, I was trying to make him realize his faults, but it backfired.

I can't win for losing.

Then again, those "respectable folks" still believe in "Global Warming". :dontknow:

I have watched several of Alex Jones' films. Not what you would call "academy award" material. The facts are sometimes a bit fuzzy.

However, it is sometimes important to ask questions.

Also, when it comes to politics . . . FOLLOW THE MONEY. Step back, take a look and see if perhaps there is a "grain of truth" in what your brother believes.

You can't change it by just criticizing him. Look for a point of agreement, build from there.

It's kinda like the story hidden in the bowels of CNN about the "contrail" off the Kalifornia coast. Chinese Jin missile launch? That's what the story said, a friend worked on a sub that had ICBM launch capabilities. He showed me the point of separation of stages, said it is an ICBM --- but not one of ours. Two days later, the story came out on CNN's website.

To be fair, it wasn't just CNN that commented on the 'rocket' off of cali coast. It was everyone else too.

With my brother, again, it almost lends itself to priming him into something if I say, "The government has chemicals in the envelop glue that you lick".... I could point him to a convincing web site (made up by myself) and he would then send this information out far and wide. I love my brother, but I hate that he's so darn stupid. ((((I used the word 'stupid' because 'ig norant' isn't allowed on this site, if anyone remembers that fiasco, despite 'ig norant being a more polite word to use))).

I'm not saying that everything that Alex Jones says is true :dontknow:,but I remember him saying something about the attacks on the World Trade Center buildings about 6 months after they fell and then that same info. being reported on 60 mintues and CNN ayear later and everybody belived them.
It's how he delivers what he knows,he likes to SHOUT it on the radio, while Glen Beck (his alter ego),delivers it in a softer voice.
I don't know enough about Chem-trails and don't really see how they could pose a threat to us down here on the ground,I'd be more worried about 2nd. hand smoke :help:

I used to live in Austin when Alex Jones was just getting started on public access as a guest on the Jeff Davis show. He soon grew to rule the air waves. I gotta say, public access was usually the best thing to watch, some really entertaining stuff. Anyway before he was "famous" I sorta knew AJ by face just in passing at the public access studio and a couple bars he went to before he got to be too well known. He always seemed paranoid like someone was out to get him, but was a pretty normal guy. If you just discovered him in the last 10 years, he has toned it WAY down. I really need to dig out some of those old access VHS and see if I can find one of his melt downs. The guy used to scream himself into a crying fit and have to take a break. Then I guess he got on prozac or something a ballooned up. AJ is in it for the money. Your brother probably just needs to get a good paying job, get some responsibility and be forced to stay busy. Then maybe he will quit thinking everyone is out to get him. Even if they are.

Your brother sounds interesting to talk to at least. I grew up in the country with crop dusters who weren't real concerned if they sprayed your house along with the field, years ago. I knew that was poison, so I wondered about jet contrails, or chem-trails, cause I equated them with crop dusters. Some of them went away real quick and some lingered. I never knew there was a whole paranoid culture about them. Those jets are flying too high up to effectively deliver any sort of chemical agent, in my opinion. I have no clue who Alex Jones is. I shall look him up.

Well no doubt I'll make some enemies here, but people that even remotely think Alex Jones knows what he's talking about has got off on the wrong coffee pot that morning.
Alex Jones caters to idiots. His ideas are NOT backed by anything remotely resembling 'investigative reporting'. Alex Jones will come up with ideas of MANY, and anything later that happens will 'seemingly' fit into his rhetoric garbage. This is where [all] the people that follow him fail and call him some kind of knowing mesia.
I would recommend that anyone disagreeing with me about my comments about Alex Jones's idea's, to look up the very topics presented by that idiot for themselves. It's not hard. Don't follow that idiot and do your own research and make your own educated decision. Education will free you!!!!

It could be worse. What if your brother believed the teachings of joseph stalin, adolph hitler or charles manson :laughing7:.sometimes its better to believe something might happen than to not believe it and have it happen.

Hi Mike. I don't take offense . . . however I actually posses several of his videos. I'm fairly well educated, and not at U.C. Berkley.

As a child of the sixties, and a witness to the Watergate and other government coverups that were eventually outed, I do have a natural distrust of the government or an industry like the mainstream media telling me that Alex Jones is nuts --- the same folks who tell me that their government run health care won't have death panels ("end of life councils/counselors" are the same thing, we would just be arguing over semantics), and then they add it back in by executive order, against the will of the majority of the governed.

I mean: I see his lips moving while he reads from the teleprompter, but I can't hear a word coming from his mouth because his ACTIONS speak LOUDER than his words.

Of course, we all know that the government never covers up anything and hides it from the public.

That's why they let us know this morning that all those "dead birds" that fell from the sky in Louisiana . . . they died from flying into power lines.

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/nat..._but_some_still_fear_apocalype_is_coming.html

http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2011-01-04-louisiana-bird-deaths_N.htm

The government says it, so it must be true . . . right?

They wouldn't lie to us . . . right?

The fact is, if they'll lie to you about the small stuff, they'll DEFINITELY lie to you about the big stuff.

You're brother sounds like the typical extremely paranoid American. I believe this accounts for around 50% of the total population, and is viewed as being "an American trait"!

Power lines ?Yeah right :laughing9: The birds werent grounded, pretty small birds to be hitting 2 lines at the same time which you would have to do to get electrocuted .You know something is going on when they start giving lame a$$ excuses. :laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7:

Hi. I love your comments, and the proof that Europeans will believe just about anything. No wonder you folks fell hook line and sinker for Algore and the pseudoscientists preaching global warming.

On the other hand, if you're in the market for a new home, I have some land on a bluff overlooking New Orleans that I can guarantee will never flood . . .

Hi Mike,

Kind of interesting that one would post his disappointment on his brothers beliefs on the world wide web .Does he know you have done this ? It's comforting to know you still love him .

Instead of arguing with him, just bring up even more crazy conspiracy theories and pretend they're real. The trick is to overload him with so many that he'll start to think some of them are BS, and hopefully that will trigger a thought process that some of the ones he started out with are too. At the least, have some harmless fun with him....

"Hey bro, did you hear that the gov't is suppressing the existence of... cryptids?"

Actually, I have come up with this very idea. It's the only thing that will hopefully take him out of his sandbox. I'll keep you informed as to what happens.

BTW, if everyone can come up with some suggestions on the next "conspiracy theory" that I can mention to him, I would be thankful. I know more brains working on this is better than just one. My goal here, is to bring my brother out of this foggy cloud and bring him into reality.

No, he doesn't' know I post about him. But at this point, I think it's more of a 'help him' get back to normalcy. I mean sure, there are things the government won't tell you about, but, shooting chemicals in the air (chem trails)? I think there are much better ways to inject chemicals into the civilians than making it an obvious overspray above where everyone can see.

Someone mentioned earlier, can't remember who, but they mentioned that they saw alex jones back when he was young. I did too. His porn was actually started on an Austin Access cable channel (I live in Austin), where you only had to take a few hours of classes, and you could get a 30 minute time slot on a local cable channel. When he first started, people would call in and literally call him out on his stupidity. BUT, I have since learned, that there is a market for putting out propaganda to stupid people. They have cash too. Even if he himself doesn't' believe it, he's making a killing sending out false info to to these people.
