Here is some information and pics of a very unique and fascinating art form.

TREE SHAPING

Unique tree stems. Amazing!

Peter and Becky of Australia, have mastered the art of Tree Shaping.

Pooktre, as they have called it, has perfected a gradual shaping method, which
is the shaping of trees as they grow along predetermined designs.

Designing and setting up the supporting framework are fundamental to the
success of the tree. Some are intended for harvest to be high quality indoor
furniture and others will remain 'living art.'

I guess Edward Scissorhands will have to look for a new line of work :tongue3:

Where's the tree house? :laughing7: Very cool stuff!

Very cool indeed. :icon_thumright:

WoW now I wonder how did they get all the branches for the chairs or are there several trees planted side by side :dontknow:
looks amazing

Thank you all for your replies.

snakeyes, I wondered about that, too. Some of the branches and other parts of the designs look too evenly spaced to be
growing there natural. They must be able to graft branches from other trees into the trunk and they take hold and grow. :icon_scratch:
I've printed all the information from the email, so your guess is as good as mine.

These are to cool!!!! I love em. Thanks for sharing.

I wonder how long it takes them to grow/shape this stuff? :dontknow:

baspinall you're welcome.

bigscoop well, There are dates on them when they were planted , but, it doesn't say how tall they are when they
are planted. It looks like about 10 -15 years to form them and there must be other branches or trees grafted on
them in order to get all the different shapes just where they want them. I have no other information than what
I have shown.

Thanks for your interest in them.

I'll tell you how long... See that guy in the 11th picture sitting in the chair? Well he started growing the parts when he was 6 :tongue3:
