Obama care will cause millions to lose health care and rates through the roof for others. Why am I paying $200 more a month for less coverage than I had last year and it will continue to go up...

Doctors are going to stop practicing by the thousands and whether you get that surgery you need so bad will be in the hands of a "death panel" of bean counters looking at the costs and not your doctor's hands.

Obamacare is like sitting in a leaky boat filling up with water and your captain tells you to drill holes in the boat to let out the water.

This is not the answer. Wakeup people!!!!! Read up on it and I don't mean the pied pipers version........

Just saying let's try something different without knowing the costs and dangers is something a fool says right before he dives off a bridge into 2 feet of water...

Trying something different was a figure if speech. Many specialist in both sides have studied this before it was implemented. I'm sorry but let's just agree to disagree.

Said the shipping lines to the Titantic captain when he objected to sailing so fast through the icefields.

I was wondering what Crispins take on this was and now I know. I'm in total agreement with you on this one! Even though I never needed assistance I was without health insurance for a couple years and was glad if all else failed I wouldn't be thrown out in a ditch and left to die! And yes I've paid taxes 27 years. I am now one of the fortunate ones to that has great insurance, but what about the rest of us? The current system we've been using DOES NOT WORK! Lets try a different approach and see what happens.

Man that sounds really smart. We take on something that they have lied to us repeatedly about and swallow it hook line and sinker.

So ... let's all jump out of this hot frying pan into those nice cool flames.

Besides, we know we can trust the government they would never lie to us. I mean, just look at the great track record. Anthony Weiner, Charlie Rangle, Richard "I am not a crook" Nixon, and the list goes on and on!

Verde thank you for speaking up, every time I see or meet a doctor I ask about obamacare, not a single one has had anything good to say and at least 80%+ have said they will stop practicing if it goes into effect.

Seven million will lose insurance under Obama health law

Stephen Dinan Published on February 5, 201

President Obama's health care law will push 7 million people out of their job-based insurance coverage — nearly twice the previous estimate, according to the latest estimates from the Congressional Budget Office released Tuesday.

CBO said that this year's tax cuts have changed the incentives for businesses and made it less attractive to pay for insurance, meaning fewer will decide to do so. Instead, they'll choose to pay a penalty to the government, totaling $13 billion in higher fees over the next decade.

But the non-partisan agency also expects fewer people to have to pay individual penalties to the IRS than it earlier projects, because of a better method for calculating incomes that found more people will be exempt.

Overall, the new health provisions are expected to cost the government $1.165 trillion over the next decade — the same as last year's projection.

With other spending cuts and tax increases called for in the health law, though, CBO still says Mr. Obama's signature achievement will reduce budget deficits in the short term.

During the health care debate Mr. Obama had said individuals would be able to keep their plans.

Just so I understand, are you saying that people who previously had coverage under an employer plan will lose it because the employers will stop providing coverage?

I am in private practice and not reimbursed by the hospital. Fourty percent of the patients I see in the hospital have no insurance. No insurance almost always means no payment. In my area of Florida this rate is standard for most specialties. Who eats that cost? The physician and the hospital.

So, "occasional uninsured" is a grossly misleading statement. Dave makes a very valid point that I am backing up now. Who should foot this bill? What is your proposal? Turning people away from a hospital and letting them die on the street is grossly unethical.

Crispin

What I have been reading from you indicates money is no object. You treat people for free, apparently because you are so grossly overpaid by others?

I guess your grossly misleading statement is that people get turned away and die in the street, and you know that is a fabrication. But the point is, everyone gets health care now, and it costs less for everyone than it will when you are only making 50K a year. The rest of your salary will go to bureaucrats.

I think it would be great to have everyone insured, But not by force. I am a builder, how about we force all the homeless to buy a house from me, and use your tax dollars to do it?

Oh man, this is good. Are you saying ALL who had coverage, or Some who had coverage, Or just the poorest who had coverage?

second amendment means nothing without the first. censorship is the first stage of tyranny.

Backwards, none of the others are worth the paper they are written on with out the 2nd, it is the 2nd that protects the rest.

Dave, let's have some fun.

Jerseyben, how many folks will what's his name's healthcare NOT cover? He said it would be universal coverage ... that means everyone.

Did what's his name lie then or is he lying now?

How many people live in the U.S.? I understand it is about 300 million give or take a few million.

Do you figure on 99% coverage? WAY TOO HIGH!!!

How about 95% coverage? STILL WAY TOO HIGH!!!

Try 90% of the U.S. Citizenry will be covered under what's his name's "universal health care" plan.

I'm lying again, aren't I? Well, not really. It is projected by the CBO (and reported in the Washington Post, among others) that some 30 million PLUS individuals will never be insured under what's his name's plan.

That is roughly 10% of the population who will not be insurable by the "AFFORDABLE Health Care Initiative" - so, if you have 10 family members (which of your cousins do you hate the most?), one of them will be, theoretically, unable to get healthcare that we will all be paying for.

And all the while we have 30 million Americans who can't be insured, we are letting in more ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS (I refuse to do politically correct BS) so that even more won't be able to be covered.

You folks sure love your snake oil salesmen, dontcha?

I think many people would agree (myself included) that Obamacare is a bad plan. However, as Crispin pointed out, what is the alternative? The way I see it, many folks would essentially allow people to die in the streets and say "not my problem" or "Im not paying for them".
