I was notified this evening that Burdie's (Stan) dad has passed away this morning after a long fight with cancer. I talked to him this evening on the phone and they also took his mother to a hospice section of the nursing home where she's not expected to survive past the weekend.

Stan, I couldn't ask for a better hunting partner. May the Lord watch over you and your family and give you the strength to get through this time of sadness. You are in our hearts and prayers.

In loving sympathy,

Jeff and Evelyn

Stan,

My heartfelt sympathy to you and yours.

"After the night has passed,
we wake to see the golden sunrise,
and after a storm,
we gaze upon a rainbow high above.
After a time of sadness,
we find safe within our hearts
life's precious gift of memories
of those we miss and love."

HE IS JUST AWAY

I cannot say, and I will not say

That he is dead. He is just away.

With a cheery smile, and a wave of the hand,

He has wandered into an unknown land.

And left us dreaming how very fair

It needs must be since he lingers there.

And you— O, you, who the wildest yearn

For the old-time step and the glad return—

Think of him faring on, as dear

In the love of there as the love of here;

Think of him still as the same, I say;

He is not dead— he is just away!
