or the kardashians or paris hilton or any of the housewives of where ever

Unfortunately true genius often is paired with a tortured soul.

boatload , This is not about a celebrity or an amount of money - it's about a human being (like you ) who suffered from depression ,
and wasn't able to find a way out - perhaps this is an opportunity for you to learn about empathy and compassion .

("Sorry if it sounds cold " Really ? you're sorry ?! )

my favorite movie of his is what dreams may come. I wonder what made him so depressed. Just goes to show that money and fame wont buy happiness.

Me too, I will miss him, everyone will.
I just hope that he is much happier on the other side.

Robin Williams suffered with biploar disorder. Can you imagine going through life on a never ending roller coaster, the biggest and scariest one in existence? Highest of highs and lowest of lows. The poor guy just needed off the ride. A lot of talented people suffer from mental illnesses. It is one thing that can push them beyond reason and makes them to achieve beyond what ordinary people can do.

A lot of kindness has been expressed here in this thread, and for the not - so - kind, a little understanding is in order, even for the rich and successful.

RIP Robin, prayers sent for his family. I am so sorry they had to experience this.

It is indeed sad. maybe the massive new push to lock away the people with mental illnesses finally took its toll on somebody that's in the limelight. with the stigma rearing its ugly head that all the crazies need to be locked away because they shoot up schools and such ( sadder yet ) and the countless millions of supposedly *normal* citizens pushing for their removal from society, has added just enough burden to the countless number of souls that already suffer countless burdens from their illnesses, and created the stress to push him and many others over the edge. I understand completely how that feels, to be pushed to the edge, the sad, really sad part of this is, had it just been some unknown john doe off the street...nobody would have noticed nor cared, some would even be happy that its one less crazy to roam the streets...that's what's truly sad.
Rest in Peace Robin Williams, I'm sorry society failed you.

Well, I screwed up. The original post made here was meant for a similar thread on another forum. That's what happens when you try to multitask too early in the morning.

My apologies Coconut Monkey.

I said nothing desrespectful, but others have, and who are you today the thread police ? you are over stepping your bounds, put some thought into what I typed above and see.

CocoNUT.

You are correct, I was wrong. Please accept my humble apology for my mistake. See edited post for explanation.
