Mike,

I'm glad your wife's condition is under control. Get some rest and then go and cheer her up with a visit.

Well... The hospital called.
They took her out of the cardiac care unit and put in a regular room!

Thank you Lord for hearing my screams!
It wasn't a fatal arrhythmia this time.
She basically choked and it caused her to go into arrest... Or something.

WD,

Well not sure about the problems you were going through, however, I'm glad things seem to have settled down for you and you're back visiting the crew.

That's a cool lookin' chain. Would be great to see it cleaned up.

I'd say it's likely hand made, by a blacksmith.

There's the farm boy! I would like to see it cleaned up, too. But, as MR WD would attest to, cleaning is not my forte. LOL! :laughing7: I have so many rusty finds laying around it is ridiculous! It's part of my plan though. I am hoping that he will eventually get sick enough of it that he gets me a "She shed."

I had big plans last year of trying electrolysis. I have everything I need to set up. I am just afraid to put it all together. My friend has expressed his utmost concern over the safety of that process. He suggests muriatic acid. Might give that a try. :dontknow:

That chain!!
PTSD be damned.. I just notice everything.
Driving down the highway, cruising along at 90 and off in the distance in some random tree is a motionless bird.. I see it instantly.

Like the face staring at me in that chain lol.
This one.. I highlighted it.

I didn't know that I was supposed to not qoute pictures...
Well, rules are meant to be broken lol

Since you pointed it out, I went back and looked at the original pic, and, I saw it! Interesting. Very, very interesting.

W.D. recovered chain...(Quick , before Tom spots it).

Square links hint of "planter/seeder" type equipment.
Manure spreaders , elevators (long thingies to load haybales into upper barn for example) too use/used them.
As well as other implements.

Of course , those guesses go right out the window if the property was not know for farming in the past....:laughing7:

I do not need to worry about Tom. He laughs at my rust. It's all good. I can take it. I am a big girl.

Now as for my curiosity, thank you. We were thinking it was horse related. Adding my info to yours, still could be anything that you said, but I am leaning towards the elevators. There was a two story barn that sat in that spot and it was full of hay.

Hey , look in her right hand..She is starting a "fan" club!

I noticed that fan, also.

We had a couple of old fans like that when I was a kid. My mom gave them to me and MrWd when we were first starting out. When the kids started getting into everything, we were concerned they would get their fingers chopped off, so we through them in the trash. Fast forward 30 years. I found out those finger choppers are collectible and have value. DANG IT!

WD,

If you want a safe option for cleaning your rusted iron finds soak them in apple cider vinegar. It'll eat off the rust when they are clean just rinse them off let dry and coat with an oil or wax of some sort to seal them.

WD,
Well try it you might like it.... and if it's not your thing use it as a stock for some hearty homemade soup and you'll still get some benefits from it.

NOUN

A German Tnet member who goes by the screen name Tom _ Restorer

I guess you set the bar. LOL!
