Trying to figure where Pink Floyd came from.
Syd Barrett came up with the band name, originally calling them THE PINK FLOYD SOUND, combining the names of two blues musicians from his PIEDMONT RECORDS collection-Pink Anderson and Floyd Council.

Can You Suggest how a 20th Century Astronaut came to be carved by a 12th Century Stonemason?

Really kind of blah blah blah, isn't it? (Kinda like my screen name) I expected something far out.

My first thought was, " What the heck is an astronaut doing in there?" LOL I am not used to seeing you write a post with your pics. Scrolling back over to see if I had mistaken a diver for an astronaut, I noticed your post. Ok so I am not imagining it. Is it photo shopped?

Nope. It’s there. But the rest of the story is that there are 2 parts of the Salamanca cathedral. The old part....carved in the 1100s and the new part....carved in the 16th and 17th century. This is found on the new part. But the real heartbreaker is that this little astronaut was carved on the cathedral in 1992 as part of the restoration work that was happening. Kind of an artists signature that says we carved this part in the 20th century.

This is a pic of the inland on St Lucia from a helicopter. While we were flying over, the pilot informed us that at one time one would see nothing but plantations of sugar cane or bananas. But, now they are dying out and more and more there are ghangi (Thats's what they call it there) farms. He said the police stay on the coast and don't even venture into the inner part of the island. The way he said it was like it was their unofficial cash crop now and their gubmnt is ok with it.

Well, Hello Madmox. I don't believe I have met you on here yet. Welcome to the RCT. And thank you for the explanation.
