On average, Charleston-area drivers paid $4.01 for a gallon of regular unleaded on Friday, a shade higher than Thursday's avarage of $3.97,according to a daily survey of service statoins conduced by the American Automobile Associatoin.
Statewide, the average unleaded price hit $3.98, compared to $3.92 on Thursday, according to AAA. "change in gas prises before a holiday is nothing new,'' said AAA spokesman Greg Beheler. " Motorrists are pretty familiar with this process.
