An out-of-body experience is not reincarnation.

Didn't say it was. However, it does raise the question that, if your conciousness does coninue to exist when you die, what does it do? where does it go? You must admit that if reincarnation is real that the soul or conciousness must continue to exist after death in order to be born again.

TBGO

Born again is not a physical birth.

I was a teenage PBJ. I used to go to school with my kid. He'd take me everyday, but never eat me. He would just carry me along and have me there like a good friend for year after year. My second life I evolved, I became a cuetip. Man those were the days, allot of ins 'n outs. Some ups 'n downs. ;D

Nope, no past lives I can think of.
Don't know if I'd subscribe to that, or not.

I heard of Bridey Murphy, though!

If you think of it in the Christian term of being spiritually 'born again", that's fine, but I meant it in the real physical sense. Did I affront your religious sensitivities CC? "Born again" can be taken literally when talking about reincarnation and I was not thinking of it in the way you have chosen to translate it.

Born again IS to be taken literally, just not physically.

If we are going to argue this from the biblical stand point...
The moderators are going to throw this thread into the rubber room.

I am sure that is not the original point .

First thing I seem to remember in this life is opening My eyes & Thinking
"Oh No ! Not Again !" then crying as a baby.

I'll tell you in my next life if I believe in reincarnation.

But If I did, at least Next time I won't say that.
Wasn't so bad this time around So far ;D

I don't remember living in a Black & White world,
So I musn't have lived Before color was invented

"Before"?

How about "yet"? ::)

Seriously, apart from a mild episode or two of deja vu, I can't recall any experience even remotely suggestive of a previous life.

This is a topic that has been of intrest to me for many years, yet I cannot have dreams or visions of the past. All of my dreams have been been inventions in the future. Many of them came true.
I think we have two minds, a conscience and a subconscious. The subconscious is missing from serial killers, some of the rulers that go for power, killing anyone in their path has this problem. The subconscious gives us sorrow for any of our wrong doing, intuition and a knowledge we have hidden or covered by our conscience. The subconscious cannot lie,
sodium pentathlon, brings forward the other mind in normal people and they only are awake in the spirit. I have seen people have minor surgery and still be laughing and talking . I always wondered if a criminal was given the truth drug, and they had no subconscious what the outcome would be, I thought they may be completely knocked out.
Reincarnation is hidden by our mortal mind, and we cannot prove or disprove even with evidence. Unless people can see or feel it with this mortal being, a few will believe.
I am not going to disagree with anything I don't know about. To me life is like money in the hand, the past is a canceled check and the future is a promissory note.
If a person can get something out of the past with their subconscious, I cannot doubt
or question just marvel. Gnewt

HOLA amigos,

My apologies for quoting scripture, the only reason for doing so was to show that the idea of reincarnation is not automatically ruled out by the Christian church - some other religions either support the idea or have it as a central belief. If the quotation is offensive to anyone I will happily remove it on request. The thread was posted for mutual entertainment, not with the idea of ruffing feathers.

I don't know how reincarnation could possibly ever be proven as an absolute fact, nor disproven absolutely. What are those "Deja Vu" experiences? Are they evidence of past lives, or some trick of memory that "fools" your mind into thinking it is recognizing some place or experience that is actually totally new?

Let me ask a couple of questions, addressed to everyone here - what is your earliest memory? Do you recall anything that does not quite "fit" with your known history? Why is a treasure hunter almost "compelled" to go and hunt for lost pirate loot? Are we sure that our attraction to these things is not due to a personal connection, which we may not be conscious of? Thank you in advance,
Oroblanco

For the same reason ....
why am I compelled to search for Spanish treasures,
almost exclusively?
Almost as if something or someone has pre determined the course.
To the point where it has become an obsession.

Thom, I believe your obsession comes from your subconscience, from the past or future dimension, you may or may not know. You probably know.
I know mine deals with the future as a navigator. I never dream or deal with the past. If a location comes to mind, I have a obsession to plot a course there and I study all aspects of what to expect when I get there.
I have no idea about reincarnation because I don't believe I was reincarnated and what other people experience is another dimension.
You seem to be dealing with the past and future, so interesting I would like to trade.
It has got to be more fun than what I'm hooked on.

Gnewt,

I can honestly say I don't know,
It isn't like I can see the trail ahead.

But the trail signs jump out for me.
sometimes they seem to do it in an animated fashion.
Many who are familiar with me personally know I am a pretty level headed guy.
But take me out and set me down in the desert and I become something else.
I am part of something here I can't explain.
I see and feel things others don't,
I know things about plants I never studied to learn,

I don't understand it, I never have.
Buy even with that lack of understanding I am able to enjoy what I do.
Just go with it.
Hope that makes sense.

Seems like common sense to me, Olddog.

It would seem erratic to me if you were searching Colorado exclusively for a Viking hoard.

;D

LMAO,

That seems logical,
But I have seen guys looking for Knights Templar stuff out here.
And to me they might as well be chasing a Viking hoard.

but that just my opinion.
am not going to spoil anybody's fun.
