My Holy Grail Double Eagle Flask

Just thought I would let you know of a followup to our Banner Double Eagle Flask. Got word back from Jeff Whichman of AmericanBottleAuctions that our flask is either a GII-101 or a GII-91....Could fetch around $2,000.00.......Yikes what a day! I knew there was a great bottle in those pits that day. Too much snow to dig now though..I hate it....See ya........jgas

So the GII-101 or a GII-91, is that a condition rating or variety?

She sure is pretty with the sun shining through it and glad it didn't break when it fell off of the right side of the banner

Re: My Holy Grail Double Eagle Flask

I believe that to be a variety rating. Most likely the applied band/ color variation has something to do with it. Looking at it up close with that huge attached pic, it really is a cool bottle if I say so myself. I just love all the bubbles and how crudely it was made.

Now I have the itch to go dig in the snow See ya. jgas

Re: My Holy Grail Double Eagle Flask

Looked up the variety in the McKearns book and found that the flask is most likely a GII-92 Pint Emerald Green and Scarce. So the day just got a bit better I think. jgas

Thanks, it was good to meet you. I hope we will see each other again in the spring. Not too much hunting going on here now. I will return to detecting next season too, maybe do half pits and half detecting. Full time whatever Jim
