Found this about 7 years back just up the road from me at an 1840s farm house. Didn't have a clue to what it was. I remember when I first dug it I thought it said the word "on" so I thought it was some sort of on off button. Duh!! Well I posted a picture of it on a forum along with my other finds from the place. Had guys start telling me that it was a confederate civil war button from North Carolina. Cool!! Of course I sold it on ebay a few years back.
This is a great time of year to be out there diggin up old stuff. Hope you all get out and find some neat old things. I miss it bad. Jim

wow, very nice. makes ya wonder. I bought one just like it on ebay a while back....hey maybe....nah :laughing7:
