First silver of 2010 - Jan. 17
Hi all:
This past week was a very long week but I won't bore you with the details. So, the thought of some MD-therapy sounded mighty nice with the warm temps and sunshine today. I hunted a woods spot for two hours mid afternoon. I had one signal that I thought for sure was yet another rusty can part (that sounds like silver.) After digging and moving some fist-sized rocks I was elated to see the rim of a coin.....1945 quarter. First silver of the new year! I also found .37 clad and a '42 wheatie. Relics include a fork, 50 caliber ramrod tip (so hubbie tells me), and a possible flag tip. I also accidentally found a geocache which I re-covered as best as possible. Beautiful day to be out.
HH and thanks for looking,
Michiganne

Cool you even found a geocache! Who placed it? I might know them. You need to show me that possible flag tip, because I think I know what you have there and it doesn't go to a flag pole. The ram rod tip looks right too.
Congrats on the first silver of the year!

What are you thinking, Mike? Some kind of CW re-enactment piece?

Congrats, nice find, nice silver!
Dang, now I feel like such a wimp, it's been warm enough, but the snow here(nodeeper than yours) has been too much for me. Gonna have to give it another try tomorrow.
Good luck,
HH.

Nice finds there Anne.
Went out yesterday myself. Had a hard time finding soft ground, even in the woods. We have quite a bit less snow over here on the sunrise side. Found a couple of nickles. It was good to get out.

Nice finds Anne, you're way ahead of some of us! Got to find myself a patch of woods to try, and pry myself out of the lazyboy! ffd

Too funny Mike! When I look at it again it does kind of look like something out of a horror flick.
