A couple of bottles and oil lamp tanks.

The honey colored bottle is an 1880's unembossed bitters. The Holt bottle is probally 1890's although he was in business in the 1870's. In the 1870's he was in business with Mr. Somers and was at 333 Wooward Ave. He moved to a few different locations at the corner of Woodward and Montcalm and then Woodward and Sibley in 1893. This is an article about him in 1898: The drug store of Alvin E. Holt at 313 Woodward Ave. was sold late in April to Walter Crawford of the Rexleigh Pharmacy corner of 3rd and Tuscola street. Mr. Holt has long been a leader in the drug trade and had the largest physicians trade in Detroit, but rate cutting and heavy expenses were against him after he moved to Woodward Ave. and he had to yield. It's kind of weird because every business address for him from 1877 to 1898 was Woodward Ave.
You don't find whole oil lamp tanks very often so I thought that I would give you a look. This is a case where bottle hunting and metal detecting come together.

    Thank's for looking.

Nice MW. I do love the embossed bottles. Gotta love a relic with writing on it.
