Re: "In The Ghetto"
You have some guts detecting Detroit if thats where you were. Ever do Belle Isle? I heard it is off limits. (your pictures did not show up by the way)

Re: "In The Ghetto"
I've done some pretty bad areas in my town and have never had any problem, just curiosity mostly. Its a good idea I think to have a partner for those spots though. congrats on scoring a couple of IH's though....would like to see the pics.

Re: "In The Ghetto" new pics
I live in Windsor ON Canada across the river from Detroit. I am over there at least once a week visiting friends in the 'burbs and have to drive through Detroit. I would love to hunt some of those old burned out areas but alas I do not carry a gun. Man there were some old, once beautiful areas that are pretty scary now.

Re: "In The Ghetto" new pics
I live in "the burbs" north of detroit. im still tryin to figure out what detecter i want. i had one in middle school (12 years ago) and i found all kinds of cool stuff. but it was cheap and broke. so im getting back into it. but I'd be all up for hunting the D. top of my list would be fort wayne, and a site on the border that used to be a civil war VA clinic til it burned down.

Re: "In The Ghetto" new pics
Nice Indian Heads! congratulations! Keep hitting it. I would bet there is silver there somewhere.
MC Mich, When did you hear Belle Isle was off limits? Just curious, I was there last year and nothing was ever said to me. There may have just been way to many poor homeless souls and drug dealers to worry about one lonely metal detectorist.
Fort Wayne is still open and has an operating guard shack. The man working the shack when I went through there gave me a number to call for a tour but, was not too sure they would allow metal detecting. (Being operational and on the historic registry)
Happy hunting!

Re: "In The Ghetto" new pics
Congrats on the Indians!
I grew up in GR. Well, as much as I ever grew up anyway.
I've thought of hunting there whenever I go down to visit, but just never got a handle on where to go.
Good Luck!
