got out for a few today at hit an old schoolhouse with Craig. we only detected there for about an hour, the area we had to detect is basically about what you can see in the picture, the rest of the yard was all flowers and vines. Had a lot of dates and initials scribbled in the brick, both carved and pencil that has lasted a long time. dug a 1939s merc and a couple of wheats. the 2 rings I dug a couple of nights before at a short construction hunt. HH, Griff

That's the dirtiest 14K I've ever seen!!! what's the stone? nice!!!!! :o
actually I think it may be a knock off. It's not the first time I've dug a junk ring marked 14k. This one is kinda hard to tell and I may take it in to a jeweler just to confirm, but it has no other markings and it doesn't clean up like other gold I've dug. I posted it in the what is it forum to try and get it dated. The area I found it has some significant local history, but I don't think it's that old. thanks for looking...

Nice digs! Bet there is more at that site! Them older rings were sometimes plated but not marked as such.

Josh, hope that's a new trend with the silver-in-the-hole pics, really cool! Nice finds from those sites. And I'm the one who's supposed to dig ALL the junk rings, lol! ffd
