So today I went back to the very first old farmhouse that I ever detected. I dug my first barber quarter, Indian and buff in this yard with my bounty hunter. Today I went back with my minelab and pounded it for about 6 hours. I’m feeling it too. Anyway, here are my finds... a couple of barbers, a merc, buff, V, injun, trade token, and some fun relics. My favorite is the key, quick little research comes up with it as a railroad gas lamp key. HH y’all... Griff.

Killer variety of old coins man! Congrats on all the old Silvers - that 1910 is Crispy!
Sweet relics too - never seen one of those railroad gas lamp keys before.
Often wonder how much we miss with our older detectors and less experience.
A memorable yard no doubt!

Did you happen to get a date on the old gas lamp key you looked up?

I did look up the company...looks like it started around 1861 in Berlin and was pretty prominent throughout the late 19th century. One of the things I love about this hobby is learning something new from finding something in the dirt. :-)

Thanks guys! One of my better hunts as far as variety of old coins. Here’s a picture I found of the old gas key connected by chain to the lamp.
