Last 2 weekends were spent in some small towns in So. Minnesota and an old farmsite in Renville County. Results were:
1902 Barber dime Heron Lake city Park
23ct gold plated Pokemon card sold by Burger King in 1999.
1918, 1927 and 1950-D Wheaties
1897 Indianhead cent
Red Goose Shoes 10c token dating to 1930's-early 40's.
The 1918 wheat was on top of the 1897 Indian and there was lots of corrosion/green stuff that took some working to be able to view them.
History on Red Goose Shoes is the company started in 1869 in St. Louis and was called Gieseke-D'Oench-Hayes. They had a picture of a goose on their shipping crates and someone started painting them red. Red Goose Shoes was trademarked in 1906 and was bought by Buster Brown shoes in the early 1940's. The token came in denominations of 5c, 10c, 25c, 50c, 1.00 and 5.00 The one I found was the 10c one. The 1897 Indianhead, the token and the 1918, 1927 and 1950-D were all found on old farm site that only has a grove of trees now. Last was occupied about 40 years ago and all buildings were burned or bulldozed.
The gold Pokemon card was one of 6 that Burger King had for sale in 1999. They gave away regular playing cards free in Kids Meals to promote them.
Also got a 1976 Kennedy Half(not posted) at Round Lake, MN park.
