I found what looks to be some sort of print plate at an old home site in an old section of town.
Part of the plate is missing, but what remains reads ;
K. A. Magruder
Some time ago my br
Liniment for rheumati
that I tried it for a bur
since used it for sore
knows no such word as
know what I would do
Wife of Hy. Saum
New Orleans, La.

The writing is backwards which makes me think it is a printing plate.
I posted a picture as is and a picture that I flipped so the words can be read easily.
Measures 2 inches by 1 1/4 inches, which makes me think it is for some kind of label.
Has anyone seen anything like this ?

Robert, I have tried to find something on this and haven't made any progress. Have you went back and tried to find more pieces. What am I saying, you probably spent the next hour after finding it in a 10x10 area digging every little tone. Nice find. Now I am going to have to just let the grass grow and get some new batteries.

Hey redbronco,
I haven't been back yet. Been too busy.
I hope to go back one evening this week. You need to try to go with me ! I'm surprised I haven't found an old coin there yet.

It is a shame we have to work for a living instead of getting paid to do historical artifact pursuing. I just came up with that one. What do you have going on next week, I might be able to make some time. Got my garden in and the tomato plants are looking good, so one more thing off my list.

Hey redbronco,
Sorry I haven't got back with you sooner, but some things came up and I'll be out of pocket for a few more weeks.
I'll PM you when I get caught up and maybe we can get together and do some detecting.
Hope you get to go detecting and find some good stuff !!!
Talk to you soon.

I have a spot I am going to try a section of and see if it would be worth spending more time. Plenty of room for all three of us. Thought about it last week when lightening busted a big water oak and we had to come out and play that night. I hope too give it a run next week and will let you know what goes on.
