Finally "found" time to build one of these.
My advice is to make sure you find the roll of mesh first then fit your specs to the mesh.
I made it using the 1/4" wire mesh like in the NuggetNoggin video, but I thought the 1/2" looked right at Lowes to me (I went with 1/4" though).

The old adage measure twice and cut once was ignored, and I paid for it.
It is good enough for the woods though!

I also received my Killer B Stinger headphone today, so I won't be bothering you guys anymore with my audio.
I just cannot hunt with both ears covered.
These are tight on my head, but should do the trick.

Inside the box was a link to this site where they have live Monday night relic hunting shows at 8:00 P.M. Central.

Cool beans, Muerte. Nice lookin sifter you have there. I have been wanting to make one of those.
I watched NN's video and a couple others. You will have to let us know how it works.
I have heard some people say the 1/2" mesh works better, as the smaller 1/4" holes clog up and do not let as much dirt pass i.e. takes longer, but that could vary depending on the soil/soils being sifted.

Congrats on the stingers too. I used to have a set, but sold em with a old machine I had. They were a little tight on my big head, but worked great.
"Measure twice, cut once" $#it happens.....
Keep us posted.

Congratz on the sifter and the headphones! I use the stinger and love it! It felt a little tight at first to me too, but I'm very used to them now. There's no way I could go back to both ears being covered! HH

I tested them today, and the headphones at first did not seem to be loud enough (even at full volume).
I then noticed my batteries were low, and replaced them in my AT Pro.
It made it just about right, but I am at full volume.
They do not get tangled in the underbrush as bad as I thought they would.
Love the extra long cord so I don't have to take them off to pinpoint.
I also like the warranty.
NEVER give lifetime warranties on metal detecting gear.

My biggest complaint with my AT Pro is the length of the headphone cord....too short. Wish they had a wireless option...

I bought this adapter a while back:
Amazon.com: Garrett Metal Detectors AT Pro Headphone Adapter: Electronics
I tried using a Bluetooth wireless transmitter with the adapter and some Bluetooth headphones (good Motorola ones), but it was so laggy, that it is not useable.
I now just use the adapter with the Killer B Stinger Optima phones.
The final answer is to go XP Deus like you and Bonepicker!

Update:
Wish I would have seen these before I ordered the Killer B rig!

Here NuggetNoggin shows it in action!

Oh to be young and/or thin again and be able to get under old structures!

Just seeing that pic, not even running the video, scares me. I might have claustrophobia... and didn't know it until right now.

Arrrg... under there... sheesh...
A guy I know was in same situation like pictured in S.C....
Felt two "pricks" on the back of his neck...
Crawling out he thought he had hit a nail from a board...
When he came out he was talking weird and stood up...
And fell backwards like a board...
He had been bitten by a Black Widow ... twice on back of neck...
He was in intensive care for three days and almost died.
Took him weeks to get right.

Be careful.
