Got out for about 2 hours today at an old football field in Jones County.
Funny how green some of these memorials look in the hole!
Find of the day was the 1925 Mercury dime!
It read a clean 83 on the AT Pro VDI (with NEL Storm coil at over 7 inches down).
It must have been great metal detecting in the 70's/80's.
I bet they harvested millions of silver coins.
Notice how you hardly ever find silver quarters or half dollars, mostly dimes.
Our newer machines are detecting the ones that are sitting deep or on edge.
We need to get together Saturday for a hunt. It is supposed to be clear.
The ground was VERY easy to dig in yesterday.
It will rain around noon today, hopefully not much.
Let's give RedBronco a call!
I would love to come down and hunt with you. However, this weekend is no good. I have a wedding to go to in Starkville on Saturday, and my parents are at my house on Sunday. Maybe next weekend?
