No Love for F70 ???

Ok, the Fisher F70 seems like a really damn nice coin machine but I rarely hear anyone talking about it. In fact, you'd think the T2 and F75 were the latest models but, from what I read, the F70 is actually the latest model.

I'm looking for a good coin/park/all around machine (and deep with decent TID)... does the F70 not fit this bill?

Everyone keeps pushing me to the ATPro, which I did own and loved, but I'm looking to upgrade from the ATpro. (and btw - Etrac was ike carrying a log around with me - don't want that, though it did perform well)

Any help, please

I would say a CZ but they are kind of like carrying a log around too, but they can be hipmounted. I'm really liking the CZ-3D and have heard many good things about the CZ-6A, CZ- 5 and CZ-70Pro if you can find them. I like the simplicity of 3-4 tones and turn on and go detecting!

Another good newer machine that is light and killer for coins is the Eurotek Pro. I got one in a trade and wish I had never sold it.

F 70 is a great unit. Not all the frills of the F75 but all the basics and then some. Read up on posts by Digger27. He is an F70 expert

I feel I am more like a newbie that researches well, likes to read all I can and just loves to play around with as many settings as I can just to watch the results
Still only about 7 months in with this thing so far.

Settling down to some standard settings for my normal sites, though...silver and gold jewelry and older coins coming out of the dirt for me lately so it seems to be working pretty good.

I am hunting with a Teknetics T2 SE which is the is the sister to the F75. I keep hearing over and over that the F70 was actually a better performing machine than the original F75 for relic hunting, thus the need to add the Boost and Cache mode and come out with the F75 and T2 SE editions. Fisher's way of keeping the top of the line machine at the top. From local hunters in my area and other parts of the south it seems like many have just discovered that the F70 is a best kept secret. Will get as deep as any machine in its class (Boost mode is deeper on the F75 but hard to use in many areas) and awesome at picking through the iron. I DO NOT own one and am strictly passing forward what I have been hearing. The investigation into it was prompted by looking for a back-up and a machine I could let my daughter use when if I can get her to go. I hesitate to post this because it is hearsay (especially the fact that the SE was needed to one-up the F70), but I have heard about the F70's performance so consistently, and from good sources, that I consider it as credible info. Just my 2 cents.

I am learning a bit from your experiences even though I have the similar F 75. The last couple of weeks I an using the 20-30 Sensitivity-Discrimination 4 or 23 - Notch 1 - Tone 4H - and doing quite well in picking out the coins. ( thinking now that using the high power at 60-100 sensitivity is way over kill and picking up too much metal signals from all over- deep and wide causing confusion). Starting to predict what I have under the coil by the numbers. In truth I only get to go out on the week ends or after work occasionally (after 7PM) if I am not too tried, but learning (putting in 3-4 hrs a week).
Took my 12 year old Grandson to a Club Hunt Yesterday. his first day hunting. Sat Morning tossed a hand full of pennies and dimes in the front yard for him to warm up on with my Ace 350 then the F 75. At the 1 PM Club hunt He opted to use the F 75 and in the group of 30 hunters he was able to find and pick up a Zinoln (Not Seeded by the club) Standing Liberty Quarter and a Roosevelt Dime. (Silver Coins). Was a nice day for both of us. (got him away from the computer games)
Not sure what this proves? Maybe the F75 is not that hard to use, even for a 12 year old with some guidance and proper settings.
