Any one ever hear about the ancient skeletons in the lake. I just read a very small article about it. Looking for more info.

Seems that a water burial was the norm for quite a while back in the day.

Windover Bog People Archaeological Dig - Titusville Florida

The deceased were placed in the shallow water with a few of their possessions.
Both Okeechobee and Windover MAY have been the same tribe or group.

It is against Florida to disturb Native American burial mounds in Florida.
Treasure hunter, L Frank Hudson of Tampa, along with several of his cohorts learned that lesson in the 1990's, when they bulldozed several of these mounds in search of the mythical Jose Gaspar treasure.
