Is it common? Any idea how old it is? It was found at 2800'. Do I have a good spot? There are plenty more! It is 3" tip to tip.

It appears to be a Devonian spiriferid brachiopod, perhaps Spirifer sp. or Mucrospirifer sp. These are fairly common where they are found. Look for slabs with multiple perfect specimens and a mix of species.

Nice. Its in great shape. I agree with Harry, its Devonian. I'd say you have a good spot.
