Back in the Spring of 1999 I had been doing alot of scuba diving off Venice beach in Florida looking for fossils and big sharks teeth. I used to dive alone which is not recommended, and one time I drifted under the fishing pier, which has many "NO SCUBA DIVING WITHIN YADA YADA YARDS" signs up, which are enforced. There's also alot of good stuff down there too because it never gets looked at.

There were 6 of these Mammoth teeth in one spot. I managed to get one before I got hooked by a fisherman:

It's not easy trying to explain to a fisherman who is half in the bag, that you found a once in a lifetime Pleistocene jackpot, while you are floating on the surface of the gulf a couple stories below him.

I had a rock guy cut it in half, and I sealed it with acrylic (hence the yellowing over time). But I knew how pretty they are inside so had to do it. Looks like a back tooth as from the root pattern.
