I found two possible fossils on the beach. I found them on the shore of Lake Michigan , Illinois side. I noticed both have small holes. The first one is smooth and the second is rather chalky feeling. And on the inside of number two there appears to more of the same material.

Wanted to add this small little group. The three light brown have sort of a waxy feel. The fourth lighter color one is smooth. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1474937653.350077.jpg

PennyG. You drop a lot of rocks here but what could help is your location, hardness, streak, relative weight
to other rocks of similar size, and what ever else you might provide.
Guessing is a tough job. It's all part of the fun.

Thanks, I did post location. I'll get back to you on the other info. Didn't really do a streak test due to thinking they were fossils. But I'll get on that.
Thanks [emoji6]

I used to swim in N. Ill at Lake Michigan by the Zion nuke plant.
A State Park that's left wild. Nice thing about having the nuke plant
there is people are scarce.

I'll go knee deep and that's about it. We aren't allowed to swim in the Fort Sheridan area. Plus it's super cold. I'm a Texan so I'm a wimp when comes to the colder temps . No polar bear club card for me [emoji6]

I've found some similar fossils up around the lake here but they were all stuck in stone so unless I had a rock hammer I wasn't able to bring any home
